Abstract
This article examines the musical context of the filmic narration of The Talented Mr.
Ripley (1999), focusing on how a certain motif is used in relation to the main
characters in specific scenes. The unique partnership between Gabriel Yared, the
composer, and Anthony Minghella, the film director, is also considered.
